It’s been three years since the curse of the Black Pearl and Keira Knightley is no longer the fair maided Elizabeth Swan who needed to be rescued.
In the Pirates of the Caribbean the Dead Man’s Chest, Keira is rougher and tougher and more assertive when she comes to getting what she wants even she has to cave in and give Captain Jack Sparrow a long awaited kiss.
Keira says she’s still amazed by Johnny Depp’s pirate creation.
“He was really funny on the first one because the character of Jack Sparrow has ……… with totally strayed, you know, and then he came and he created this amazing character and nobody knew when we were on the first film whether it’s gonna work or not, what was going wrong, you know.
We all were “waah that’s amazing” but when the film came up, everybody loved it very much and I loved it very much. I couldn’t stop laughing and I’d been there when he was doing it.
It’s so lovely to have that character again because he’s one I personally love and that everybody loves. You see them doing this thing “Woo it’s Jack Sparrow, it’s not Johnny mmmh, it’s Jack Sparrow”, it’s amazing, you know.
I mean it’s quite difficult at times because I think he’s taking even further you know, and there are points where you can’t help a laugh.”
This time, Knightley’s mission is to save Captain Jack Sparrow from certain death by this evil … Davy Johns.
In the 2005 movie blockbuster, Madagascar, all friends from the Central Park zoo escape their bright life of New York for the wild Heaven island paradise.
Welcome giants pansies!
Now in the exciting follow up, the all zoosters go on a new adventure and encounter new wild animals in Dreamworks’ Madagascar escape to Africa.
The service user has round outside of the coverage area. wooow
Ben Stiller : The first movie was, you know, really learning about the guys from the zoo and their life in the zoo and the friendships.
Gloriaaaa! Open eyes up! Open!
Cedric : You know they are in the zoo but they long to be where they’re from. Landing in the land of Madagascar they cannot be in this plushed++/plunged– jungle life.
I like funny games, they love to move their body!
Tom McGrath : Without the story was good in the first movie, the idea of civility versus savagery and a kind of alternative turns into a friendship story about this zoo animals and the friendship was tested when they got into the wild.
Eric Darnell : What would be the next logical thing to take this characters to a new place based upon what they’ve already learned and discover in Madagascar. So from there, we figure what let’s take them back to the place where at least their species come from so they can deal with what that may means to them and how that may relate to whether they do or do not, hawkmally/ oakmally(naivement) believe that they’re born in New York city.
Launch! Laauuunch!
Ben Stiller : The coming back home to New York and on the way back they have a little bit of a crash, a funnily crash.
It’s more fun when you raise your arms like this.
Ben Stiller : The pain is real to save day and of course they are not back in New York, but they’re in Africa and that where Alex meets his family. And Marty gets to run with the … they are all like him and … everybody … discovering a routes and getting back to the family.
Chris Rock : At first he’s kind of happy, then he could just steed in but after a while he’s kind of sad cause he’s not as special as he used to be. ….
First I’m really happy, then I’m going “No one’s paying attention to me.”
Jada Pinkett Smith : Melman being a sickly character, he is a … get back to my land cause he needs all types of medicines and he needs his doctor and hates there.
David Schwimmer : Actually there’s really pretty dramatic things happening to Melman in this one. He is in so pretty dangerous situations, life threatening situations and then a loco tells him he’s acquired a disease so he is completely sure he’s gonna die.
You really don’t have doctors here ?
Ben Stiller : David Schwimmer is so funny as Melman. He’s just amazing, the character always makes me laugh and Jada as Gloria has a great …with a new suiter in this film, that’s all sub… between her and Melman, is to me really one of the strongest elements in the movie.
You know what moto moto means ?
Twins?
It means hot hot!
Hot hot!
Jada : You know it’s all about the friends really having … they just come together and just sit down and work it out.
Chris Rock : Alex has his father issues, I have my zebra issues.I can’t believe there is not a … in this movie.
This week, we had to look on five other student’s blogs and try to find mistakes.
( For my part : Mathieu, Matthieu, Maxime, Melanie, Nassim)
As a matter of fact I started too late looking for blogs, and thus all mistakes had already been corrected !!!
This is why I will do this for next week with the new comments on the blogs…!!
“Today I went to an Irish pub. The pretty barmaid Stacy drinks a lot. Sometimes she even stops drinking just to do her job, which I find very funny. On the other hand I am always drunk because she uses to serve me free drinks. She does a good job and charges me about 5 euros for the first drink, which is the cheapest pub I found in Paris.
She told me that she came to France as a 12 year old, 12 years ago. She went to IMAC School and then worked for a Web Agency for 5 months. She has been fired because she spent all time in the Irish Pub in front of her flat. She knew all owners and drinkers. After her dismiss, she became THE barmaid because all the owners had cirrhosis of the liver.”
Hello, this is Steve P. I’ll talk about sometime a little different today, how it’s related to language, we’re here at thelinguist.blog.com
Today I went for a haircut. My barber talks a lot. Sometimes he even stops cutting just to talk, which I find mildly annoying. On the other hand I am always entertained for 30 minutes while he cuts my hair. He does a good job and charges me 18 dollars, which is not the cheapest, but not the most expensive, haircut in Vancouver.
He told me that he came to Canada as a 16 year old, 20 years ago. He went to hair dressing school and then worked for a chain of hair salons for 5 years, in different locations in the city. He got to know the personalities of different kinds of clients.
He found he did not like working in the heavily Chinese district of Richmond because, in his words, the customers would arrive late and expect to be served right away. If they were not served immediately, they assumed that the customer who was being served in their place had paid extra. He did not like the pressure of that situation.
He eventually opened his own shop in North Vancouver. He said that he made sure to learn about all the subjects that his clients were interested in, from fly fishing to the stock market. He knew that if customers liked him, they would come back.
After 20 years in Canada, dealing daily with English speaking Canadian clients, his English is just terrible. His pronunciation, use of words, structure, you name it, are all quite poor. When he talked about a leading politician and his wife, “he” and “she” were regularly used wrong. I had trouble understanding whom he was talking about. People who are not used to Chinese accents must have trouble understanding him. His English is poor even by the standards of his native Hong Kong.
Just being immersed in the language and talking the language will not necessarily improve you. You need to want to improve. You need to have a deliberate program of improvement. You need to listen.
On the other hand, he was successful at building up a customer base, and did not seem to feel inhibited in any way by his poor English.
He was a communicator, although a better talker than a listener. I have not suggested to him that he join The Linguist.
